Wilfred R. Demeule - Central Falls
Wilfred R. “Pete” Demeule, 83, of Central Falls died Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Miriam Hospital in Providence.He was the former husband of Audrey Demeule. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Auguste and Aurore (Adam) Demeule. He was the longtime companion of Dotty Fothergill. He and his family owned and operated the Four D’s Restaurant for 50 years and later AAA Custom Drapery for more than 35 years. “Pete” was a World War II Marine veteran. He was elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives for the term 1954-1956. He was a member of the 35th Democratic Senatorial District Committee, a member of Kirkbrae Country Club and an active member in Central Falls politics. He always sought to make Central Falls a better place. “Pete” loved gardening and fishing. Besides his longtime companion, Dotty, “Pete” is survived by a daughter, Sandra McConnell of Mesa, Ariz., and three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main St., Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
