Lemire's celebrate their 60th

CUMBERLAND - Raymond and Claire Lemire celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a party given by their family on Aug. 22, at Savini's Restaurant in Woonsocket.

Mr. and Mrs. Lemire were married on Oct. 29, 1949, at St. Joseph Church in Woonsocket. Mrs. Lemire is the former Claire Defond.

The couple are the parents of Gloria Fafard of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Diane Ernst of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Roland Lemire of Pascoag, Denise Mottola of Harrisville, and Steven Lemire of Cumberland. They have 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lemire is retired from Landmark Hospital. Her hobbies include reading books, shopping with family and sewing.

Mr. Lemire previously worked in construction. He served in World War II in the Pacific for the Navy. He enjoys woodworking, painting and puzzles.
