Mr. and Mrs. Imondi celebrate diamond anniversary

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Mr. and Mrs. John V. Imondi celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 3. The couple married in 1948 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Providence. She is the former Nancy E. Pompei.

They have two daughters, Lucille Tudino of North Providence, and Elaine Ferrante of North Providence, and one granddaughter, Nancy Ferrante.

Mr. and Mrs. Imondi were childhood sweethearts. They married two years after he returned from serving in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned the Purple Heart. In their retirement, they teach line dancing lessons at senior centers and nursing homes. After giving a dance class at the Capital City Senior Center in Providence on April 3, their 60th anniversary, they were surprised with an anniversary cake from their children and members of the dance class.

Before retiring, Mr. Imondi worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and Mrs. Imondi worked for General Electric.
