SMITHFIELD - Karen Lowe of Smithfield and Stephen Lowe of Warwick announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Kirby Lowe, to Eric Scott Graber of Somerville, Mass., son of David and Judy Graber of Lawrenceville, N.J.

The bride-to-be graduated from Smithfield High School in 2002 and Northeastern University in 2006. She is a preschool teacher in Massachusetts, and a freelance reporter for The Valley Breeze & Observer.

The future groom graduated from Boston University in 2006 and is enrolled at Tufts University working toward a master's degree in school psychology.

They plan to marry on Aug. 15, 2009, and will live in Massachusetts.
