SMITHFIELD - A Bayou 'n' Boogie Fest is planned for Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, at the Smithfield Elks Lodge, 326 Farnum Pike, Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

There will be a covered dance pavilion with wooden dance floor, indoor and outdoor stages for continuous music, a grill area serving food, beginners and advanced dance lessons, an accordion workshop with Curley Taylor and a fiddle workshop with Dennis Stroughmatt.

Sunday brunch will feature the Bayou Cajun All Stars, Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble, Dennis Stroughmatt & Creole Stomp, Leroy Thomas & The Zydeco Roadrunners, Magnolia Cajun Band Li'l Anne & The Hot Cayenne Band, and others.

Admission is $35 each day, or both days for $60.
