He was the beloved husband for 51 years of E. Gail (Ballou) Hebblewaite. Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles Jr. and Gladys H. (Gardner) Hebblewaite, he was a Johnston resident for 10 years before moving to Scituate 39 years ago. Mr. Hebblewaite worked for Narragansett Electric Company for 40 years and was foreman of the transportation department, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in North Scituate and served as vestry person for several years. He also was a member and past president of the Rhode Island Clodhopper Square Dancing Group, the former assistant treasurer of St. James Episcopal Church in North Providence, a 50-year member of Roger Williams Lodge #32 F. & A.M. and a charter member of Sunshine Wheelers Camping Group. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Lianne Hebblewaite, Dianne Auld and Betty A. Mohr; a son, Thomas D. Hebblewaite; a brother, Harry Walter Hebblewaite; and seven grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, Scituate. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., Route 44, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
