On our 20th (and my 10th), a word of gratitude

It’s hard to believe The Valley Breeze is already 20 years old. It’s even harder to fathom that I’ve been here for half of that time, with my 10-year anniversary coming up in a couple weeks.

When I first started here in 2006, I knew little about how unique The Breeze was among news publications, particularly with its relentless focus on illuminating the communities it serves with an excellence that is almost unheard of for a weekly (free!) newspaper. The free weeklies I was used to seeing had ads masquerading as stories on the front cover. It didn't take long for me to realize this was a company I could work for for a long time.

On this our 20th birthday, March 27, I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone, from Tom, Marcia and everyone else at The Breeze to you the readers, for giving me the opportunity to do what I love best. Telling stories that matter to people is what local journalism is all about, and there's nothing I'd rather be doing.

Quality reporting is, and always will be, the hallmark of the Blackstone Valley’s best news source, and I look forward to being part of the next 20 years in this very successful community news endeavor.
