Maple Sugar Days
at Old Sturbridge Village, Sturbridge, Mass. See the entire maple sugar-making process, from tapping trees to sugaring off, and learn how maple sugar was used in early New England. Enjoy a scavenger hunt and demonstrations of different tapping techniques, including traditional Native American methods, early 19th-century New England techniques, 20th century metal buckets, and contemporary tubing. Costumed historians will also cook period foods made with maple products by the hearth at the Village’s Freeman Farm. Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., through March 30.
