Explorer Riverboat Tours on the Blackstone River depart every Sunday through Oct. 20, from Central Falls Landing on Madeira Avenue, Central Falls, at 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m. A tour guide explains the ecology of the river and surrounding wetlands interspersed with stories about the people and history of the region. Adults $10, seniors and children $8. “Free Sundays” are the last Sunday of every month sponsored by Citizens Bank. Call 401-724-2200.

Tickets are $8 for adults; $5 for children 5-11; free for ages under 5; $30 family of five ticket. Purchase tickets from K of C members or at Mount St. Rita Health Centre. Tickets will also be available at the door.

A blessing of the animals by the Rev. Ronald C. Crocker, and a blessing of the teddy bears will both take place at 10 a.m. Teddy bears collected by parishioners will be blessed and delivered to the Lincoln Police Department to be used for children in crisis. A health and wellness fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall.

Health professionals will present information on a variety of health and wellness topics, as well as provide blood pressure screenings, massage therapy and Zumba demonstrations. Flu and pneumonia shots will be given by The Wellness Company. Insurance cards must be shown for those 6 months or older. Cost is $25 for those without insurance.
