BankRI kicks off 20th year of collecting holiday gifts for children with its ‘Giving Tree’

Bank Rhode Island is sponsoring its “Holiday Giving Tree” for the 20th year to help brighten the holidays for children in need across the state.

Each of BankRI’s 20 branches throughout the state will collect gifts to help grant these children their holiday wishes. All of the gifts collected will be distributed to the children through the bank’s nonprofit partners, including the Lincoln Community Care Alliance, Adoption Rhode Island in Pawtucket, Tri-Town Community Action Agency in Smithfield, and Connecting for Children & Families in Woonsocket.

The “Holiday Giving Tree” is placed in the lobby of each bank, decorated with ornaments featuring the name, age and holiday wish of children served by that branch’s nonprofit partner. Anyone is invited to select an ornament, purchase the designated gift, and return it to the local bank branch and place the unwrapped gift beneath the tree.

Last year, more than 1,200 gifts for children were collected.

BankRI has branches locally in Johnston, Lincoln, Pawtucket, Smithfield and Woonsocket. For a full list of locations and hours of operation, visit www.bankri.com/locations .
