BRT presents annual Christmas Celebration

Performing at the BRT Christmas Celebration are, in front from left, Tir Na Nog dancers Kathryn Grupp and Tess Keenan; middle row, Elwood Donnelly, Aubrey Atwater, Torrin Ryan, Mary Lee Partington, and Ed Sweeney; back row, Armand Aromin, Benedict Gagliardi, Erika Damiani, Bob Drouin, and Russell Gusetti.

CUMBERLAND – Blackstone River Theatre will present two performances of its 10th annual Christmas Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at the theater, 549 Broad St.

The show will feature Armand Aromin, Aubrey Atwater, Erika Damiani and members of Tir Na Nog Irish Dance, Elwood Donnelly, Bob Drouin, Benedict Gagliardi, Russell Gusetti, Mary Lee Partington, Torrin Ryan, and Ed Sweeney.

Executive director Russell Gusetti, who also produces the show, explains that audiences can “expect the unexpected ... songs, poetry, carols, dancing, stories and more,” as the musicians join in on many Christmas and winter-themed pieces. “That’s one of the nicest thing about this show,” continues Gusetti. “The musicians and dancers get a chance to perform with each other in several different configurations, something audiences do not get to see at any other point in the year. It’s also a chance to hear not only familiar Christmas music but many pieces that may not be as well-known to audiences or are presented in different settings,” adds Gusetti.

Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. The performances are sponsored by Navigant Credit Union.
