Cumberland: Sign up for ‘Energy Challenge’

Cumberland: Sign up for ‘Energy Challenge’

Dear Cumberland residents,

I am pleased to join with Sen. Pearson, Reps. Ackerman, McLaughlin and Marszalkowski, Councilors Beaulieu, Metivier, Schmitt, and Shaw to make you aware that the Town of Cumberland is showing great progress in reaching our goal for the R.I. Energy Challenge. More than 300 town residents have signed up for an EnergyWise home energy assessment, but we need more of you to take part before Dec. 31 so the town can be awarded a $10,000 grant from National Grid. Remember, the assessment and efficiency products are provided at absolutely no cost to you and your family.

My family had an EnergyWise home energy assessment earlier this year. I was impressed by the energy-saving recommendations provided by the team. In addition to their suggestions, we were given no-cost efficiency products including; state-of-the-art light bulbs and “smart” power strips to lower our energy costs even further. We were pleased with the level of service, attentiveness, and respect that the team showed. Best of all, we noticed an immediate difference in our energy consumption.

It is the hope of the Council that all Cumberland residents take advantage of the EnergyWise home energy assessment through the R.I. Energy Challenge. Please help us show future generations that we can live happy and smart.

To sign up for a home energy assessment please visit before Dec. 31.

If you have questions or comments please email: or
