CHS students collecting toiletries for shelter

CUMBERLAND – A collection of toiletries is now beginning that is aimed to help the men at the Emmanuel House homeless shelter in Providence. The collection is being coordinated by Cumberland High School students with the Rotary Club Interact/Helping Hands Club.

Most needed are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs and brushes, razors and shaving cream, aftershave and cologne, floss and mouthwash, Q-tips, deodorant, soap and shampoo. The collection will continue through Friday, Jan. 5.

Collection sites are currently at Cumberland High School, Cumberland Town Hall, and the Paintbox Preschool on Broad Street. It is expected that collections will also be accepted soon at the town’s middle and elementary schools.
