Eileen Mae Kayata – Dennisport, Mass.

Eileen Mae (Collins) Kayata, 90, of Dennisport, Mass., died peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital June 15, 2018. She was the wife of the late Michel (Mitch) Kayata (1998).

Born and raised in Pawtucket, R.I., she was the only child of the late Vincent and Hermina (Schnurr) Collins. Eileen and her husband, Mitch, lived in Lincoln, R.I., and summered on the Cape in their Dennisport home. After his passing, Eileen moved to the Cape full-time. To keep busy, she would attend a wide assortment of courses at Cape Cod Community College.

Eileen loved sports. She was an avid traveler and needlepointer. She also enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, especially jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Eileen was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich, Mass., and a devoted member of the choir.

She is survived by her loving sons, Vincent (and his wife Mary) of Lincoln, R.I., and James (and his wife Laura) of Dallas, Texas. Eileen is also survived by her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial will be held on Tuesday , June 19, at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, R.I., 02914.
