Mary B. Woods – Cumberland

Mary B (Shea) Woods, 74, of One Mendon Road, Cumberland, passed away peacefully on August 21. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (O'Connor) Shea.

A 1962 graduate of Cumberland High School, Mary worked as a third shift supervisor at Kendal Manufacturing for many years before retiring in 2000. She loved camping and spending time outdoors at the beach with her family and friends. In her later years Mary became an avid reader and was especially fond of James Patterson. She was also an active member of the tenants association at One Mendon Road.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, John P Woods, and her brother, James Shea. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Woods) Rubino of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and her son, John M. Woods, of Warwick. In addition to her children, she leaves behind her sister, Ann (Shea) Poli of Cumberland; her brother John Shea of Minnesota; and her sister-in-law, Barbara (Roy) Shea, of North Carolina.

Mary was grandmother to Michael Goyette of Prattsville, N.Y., Frank Goyette of Clarks Summit, Pa., Rebeccah Goyette of Hunter, N.Y., Matthew Woods of Woonsocket, Jason Woods of Woonsocket and Shawn Woods of Woonsocket.

She also had eight great-grandchildren, five nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends.

Everyone who knew her said the same thing, "She was one of the good ones." She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 1, at the Enrico Caruso Club, 105 Bouvier Ave, Manville, R.I., from noon to 4 p.m., all friends and family are welcome.
