O'Neill touts accomplishments during six-year tenure

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Sen. Ed O'Neill, who is seeking re-election for the District 17 seat, stated in a press release that it has been an honor to serve the people of District 17 for six years.

O'Neill said he was an entry-level employee when hired 35 years ago by Texas Instruments but eventually became the global automotive supply process manager.

"As a senior manager I was responsible for a large organization and budget. One of my duties was to teach ethics to all new professional hires. I am now the prime sponsor of a much needed ethics reform bill, supported by Common Cause," he said.

O'Neill said he is very concerned with the economy in Rhode Island and wants to see people stay here versus moving to other states.

"My focus is on jobs and small business," he continued. "I was recognized by The National Federation of Independent Business as a 'friend of small business' based on my voting record and support of job growth."

O'Neill said he strongly urges people to learn about him and his opponent in order to make an informed decision.
