Joseph M. Hunt - Harmony

Joseph M. Hunt, 63, of Canterbury, Conn., passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, Mass.

He was the husband of Cheryl R. (Grant) Hunt for 30 years. Mr. Hunt was born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph M. and Cathryne G. (O’Neil) Hunt. He lived in Harmony, R.I., for 28 years before moving to Canterbury, Conn., in 2006.

He was a Master Craftsman for the Adams Printing Co. in Pawtucket, R.I. since 2001 after an extensive career in the Rhode Island graphics industry. He was a 17-year member of the R.I. 4-H Club Foundation, served on scholarship committees and helped organize their annual golf tournaments.

He was a leader of the Millennium Library Club, the R.I. 4-H teen council, and a supporter of the St. Joseph’s Indian School in South Dakota. For many years he operated the 4-H chicken barbeque booth at the Foster Old Home Days and the 4-H pizza booth at the Washington County Fair.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Heather R. (Hunt) Crecco of Canterbury and his son-in-law, Robert Crecco; and his brother, James O. Hunt of Georgia. Farmer Joe also left behind his menagerie of animals.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. in the North Scituate Community House, 546 West Greenville Road, North Scituate, R.I., off Route 116 in North Scituate Village (food will be provided).
