Future Chef Competition

They might only be in elementary school, but these kids can cook! Seven students were selected to compete in this years Sodexo Future Chef competition, held at Jenks Junior High School on Wednesday, March 20. To compete this year, each student was asked to submit a recipe for a healthy salad. With the help of a mentor from one of the school cafeterias or from Sodexo, students set to work making their salads that were tasted by several judges, family and friends.



The winner, Daniel Cardosa, a 5th-grader at Curvin McCabe Elementary School, won a Kindle Fire and will be entered to compete in the national competition with his recipe, “Fancy Fruit.”

Also competing in this years competition were: Agnes Little Elementary School 4th-grader Amari Machado, Agnes Little Elementary School 4th-grader Amy Diakite, Curvin McCabe Elementary School 5th-grader Cedrick Leca, Curvin McCabe Elementary School 6th-grader Jordan Lewis, Fallon Elementary School 4th-grader Jayeleigh Bergeron and Fallon Elementary School 6th-grader Shreena Patel.
