Joseph Lamoureux - Cumberland

Joseph Lamoureux, 79, of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was the proud husband of Beverly (Woratch) Lamoureux for 58 years.

He is survived by his four loving children, Kathleen Lees, and Thomas, Jay and Joseph Lamoureux; as well as seven grandchildren, Derek and Amanda Spittell, Thomas, Brad, Jacob, Alexander and Griffin Lamoureux, and Samantha and Kyle English; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Joy.

Born in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Philias and Alice (Shevlin) Lamoureux. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Lamoureux was a trainman for 33 years, retiring from the P&W Railroad in 1993. He was a Friend of Bill Wilson for 28 years, and everybody knew Joe as the man who walked Mendon Road daily with his golf club in hand.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the O’NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Saint James Cemetery in Manville. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
