Marjorie M. Kern - Lincoln

Marjorie M. (Dyer) Kern, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

She was the wife of the late Walter J. Kern. Born in Providence, raised in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late Andrew C. and Etta R. (Reilly) Dyer.

Mrs. Kern was the owner, along with her late husband, her son Kurt, and son-in-law David Machado, of Austrian Machine Corp., now known as AMC Design & Manufacturing of Cranston which she and her late husband founded more than 40 years ago.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Smithfield, R.I., and a former member of the church Council, the church choir and the Lutheran Women’s Organization.

She was the loving mother of Regina Crowshaw, with her husband, Matthew Crowshaw, Michele Machado, with her husband David Machado of Johnston, Charlene Pickett, with her husband, Todd Pickett of Lincoln, and Kurt W. Kern, with his wife, Rosanne Kern of Lincoln. Marjorie is survived by her children, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sister in-law, Roberta Dyer of Narragansett.

She will be remembered fondly by her close circle of steadfast friends with whom she shared so much. She was the sister of the late Loretta R. Dyer and the late Andrew C. Dyer Jr. Marjorie will always be remembered as a generous, gentle, graceful woman, whose greatest joy was taking care of her family and loved ones. She will be sorely missed.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Route 44) Greenville. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 54 Cedar Swamp Road, Smithfield.
