Albert W. Prichard - Barrington

Albert W. Prichard, 81, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Fort Myers, Fla. He was the husband of Frances (Wenning) Prichard for 54 years.

Born in Englewood, N.J., the son of the late Albert and Harriet (Wilcox) Prichard, he served during the Korean War in the United States Navy assigned to the USS Wisconsin BB 64. He was a member of the USS Wisconsin Association and of several VFW Posts.

A retired electrical engineer, he worked on Aquidneck Island in the defense contracting industry. Among the companies he worked for were General Dynamics, Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers professional association.

For his entire life he had a keen interest in mathematics, with specific interest in prime numbers and the derivations of Pi.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Janet J. Prichard of North Smithfield and Marlene F. Prichard of Riverside; one son, Anthony P. Prichard of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Andrew W. and Sarah C. Hayden.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 17 from 4-7 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A private graveside service, followed by military honors and his interment, will be held in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
