Eric Swider - Cumberland

Eric Swider, 71, of Cumberland, met his God on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Hulitar Home & Hospice following a sudden illness. He was the beloved husband of Claudette (Lussier) Swider.

Born in Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Alexander and Pauline (Natale) Swider, and the brother of the late Annette B. Swider. He was the devoted father of Lee-Ann (Adam) Wiensch of Mequon, Wis., Marcelle (Andrew) Szurley of Lincoln and Jeff (Jenny) Swider of Portsmouth. He was the proud pépère of 11 remarkable grandchildren.

Eric had a 25-year career in Chamber of Commerce work, followed by 20 years as the owner of a direct mail marketing business, Super Coups.

He was a daily communicant, trustee, SPRED catechist, Eucharistic minister and founding member of the Men’s Club of St. John Vianney Parish.

His favorite hobby was cheering on his children and then his grandchildren at their academic, athletic, equestrian and performing arts endeavors. In years past, he was an avid bicyclist, boater, and was a gifted public speaker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or to the St. John Vianney Parish Music Ministry, __Directions/Guestbook:
