Edgar T. Lajoie - Cumberland

Edgar T. Lajoie, 92, of Marywood Lane, Cumberland, R.I., formerly of Blackstone, Mass., died Sunday July 14, 2013, in the Holiday Retirement Home with his family by his side.

He was the husband of the late Stasia (Kinash) Lajoie. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helena (Trudeau) Lajoie. Mr. Lajoie was the owner and operator of Tile Craft in Bellingham, Mass., before retiring in l983.

He was a United States Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, rock climbing and exploring the woods in Maine.

He was a former member of the Blackstone Pistol Club and earned the title of the R.I. State Champion in 1956 in pistol shooting, and he also was a member of VFW Post of Woonsocket.

He is survived by one daughter, Robin and her husband Michael Degrange of Cumberland; and four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one great-great-granddaughter. He also was the father of the late Denise Lajoie and brother of the late Raymond Lajoie.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 10 A.M. in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are omitted.
