Race director says thanks

I would like to thank all of the runners who braved the heat and humidity to participate in the Arnold Mills Road Race. The race drew 557 runners.

We had runners who came from as far away as England and Italy and across the whole country to help celebrate the "Fourth."

I would also like to thank the Cumberland Police Department and North Cumberland Fire Department for being there to protect the runners and the spectators. They give up time with their families to serve us.

The race could not be the success it is without the many volunteers who help. The Cumberland Cross Country parents and the Cruise Family who manned the registration tables and water stops, and the town workers made the streets clean and safe for the spectators and runners.

I want to single out four people who are indispensible. Keith Lawton, Kathy Kenwood, Varnam Elliott and Michaela Kenwood who make things run smoothly.

Our sponsors were very generous as usual and they were J.H. Lynch, Navigant Credit Union, The Valley Breeze, Rick's Music, Milford Federal Savings and Loan, McLaughlin and Moran, and Cumberland Crime Stoppers who donated in Honor of Uncle Ronnie. These generous donations keeps the parade marching on.

Thanks to all,

Tom Kenwood

Road Race Chairman
