PAWTUCKET – Local police have identified a murder victim discovered off Blackstone Street on Monday, July 29, as Robert Littlejohn, 26. Littlejohn had lived in both Pawtucket and Central Falls.

Police were notified around 3:30 p.m. that a passerby had discovered a human body in a wooded area. The passerby, who was walking his dog when the dog noticed the body, notified police.

Police said Littlejohn initially appeared to have been shot several times. The Office of the Rhode Island Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled that the cause of death was gunshots.

Pawtucket police say they do not believe that the location in which the body was discovered is where the crime took place.

Anyone with information about the crime or who may have heard what sounded like gun shots during the previous three or four days is asked to call the Pawtucket Police Department at 401-727-9100 and ask for either Det. Sgt. Brandley, ext. 740, Det. Rosciti, ext. 737, or Det. Silva, ext. 760.
