Cumberland library lists fall storytimes

CUMBERLAND - The Children's Room of the Cumberland Public Library announces its fall storytime schedule. Storytimes features a combination of thematic books, songs, rhymes and movement activities while building language and literacy skills. Storytimes will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and end on Thursday, Nov. 21. No registration is necessary as the programs are drop-in.

* Tales for Twos will be held on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and is open to 2-year-olds with a familiar adult. Tales for Threes will be held on Tuesdays at 11 a.m.

* Starlight Storytime for children 4-6 will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. Children are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a bedtime buddy, and join us to share stories, songs, and fun for 30-45 minutes.

* Daylight Storytime will be held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Children 4-6 are invited to have fun for 30-45 minutes with engaging books, songs and movement activities as they build their early literacy skills.

* Little Ones Lapsit Storytime, for children birth to 24 months, will be held every other Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m., Oct. 18, Nov. 1 and 15. The little ones and their favorite adult will enjoy songs, action rhymes, play time and share books together.

* Little Ones Play Circle, for children birth to 24 months, will be held every other Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., Oct. 12 and 26, Nov. 9. The play circle is an informal, social, literacy-rich get-together for parents and caregivers and their little ones.
