SMITHFIELD - The 2013 RIICA/Neil Sullivan Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Stephen D. McManus of Lincoln.

He is the founder of Homerun Heroes, and organization devoted to collecting new and used baseball equipment distributed to the less fortunate in foreign countries. He is a member of the National and Rhode Island Honor Societies, National Business Honor Society, as well as a member of the Law Academy. He is now attending Roger Williams University where he is majoring in political science, philosophy and law. His future plans are to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigations as an attorney.

McManus was awarded his scholarship at RIICA's annual David Burnham Memorial Clambake held at Twelve Acres, Smithfield, in late August.
