Deadline to enter Canine Costume Contest is Friday; judges announced

PAWTUCKET - The Pawtucket Dog Park Committee has announced that the deadline to sign up for first Pups on Parade Dog Walk and Canine Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, Oct. 19, has been moved back to this Friday, Oct. 4. The event will start at 1 p.m. at Daggett Farm in Slater Memorial Park. The rain date is Oct. 26.

Organizers are calling for dog lovers to "dress up, dress up your pet, and join us for some dog-loving fun in Slater Park."

Committee members have announced that three celebrity judges will decide the winners of the costume contest. The panel will include Molly O'Brien, reporter for NBC 10, David Jones, radio personality with Lite Rock 105, and Kim Kalunian, reporter and digital producer for WPRO.

Registration is required for this the free event. Forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office in Slater Park, the Rumford Pet Center locations in East Providence and South Attleboro, the suggestion box at the Pawtucket Dog Park bulletin board in Slater Park, and soon online at www.pawtucketdogpark.com .
