Boys and Girls Club lists fall events, schedule

BLACKSTONE - The Blackstone Valley Boys and Girls Club will hold its annual Comedy Night on Saturday, Nov. 16 at their location at 115 Canal St. in Blackstone. There will be a beer and wine cash bar and many raffle prizes.

This year's comedians are Juston McKinney, Joey Carroll, and Mark Scalia. The event is 21+ and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by stopping by the office at 115 Canal St. Tables can be reserved for those buying eight tickets or more.

The club has also brought back Skate Night, where guests can roller skate on Saturday evenings from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The facility also hopes to have the ice skating surface ready by Nov. 23.

The club will have tryouts in mid-October for their travel basketball program. Teams will be entered into the South Central Massachusetts Youth Basketball League. Boys in grades 4 through 8 and girls in grades 5 through 8 are welcome to try-out for this competitive league. There is a fee for those who make the club teams. Adult, 16 and up, pick-up street hockey games are also in session at the club on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Middle School Drop-In Program meets Monday through Friday, from 2 to 6 p.m. The club also has a School Age Program before and after school for children in grades K-5. Homework help, snacks and activities are offered for both programs.
