Lincoln library's silent auction opens for bids Saturday

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Public Library's 2013 Silent Auction will take place Saturday, Nov. 9 through Friday, Nov. 15.

Business owners, nonprofit organizations, and individuals have donated gift certificates or items that represent their organization, business, or personality. The donations will be on display in the library and can be bid on during the silent auction. Monies raised will go toward purchasing new furnishings for the library.

So far, some of the organizations taking part are Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyards, Slater Mill, Providence Bruins, New England Pottery, Providence Children's Museum, Faial Restaurant and Lounge, A.T. Cross, and Twin River Casino.

On Friday, Nov. 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., will be the auction finale. There will be door and raffle prizes, crafts, treats, and one last chance to place bids.

The library is also holding a Progressive Fundraiser Raffle for $5 a ticket. If 200 tickets are sold, the 1st prize will be $500, 2nd prize is a one-night stay at the Omni Hotel in Providence, and 3rd prize is a Kindle Fire. The drawing for the Progressive Fundraiser Raffle will take place during the finale on Nov. 15.
