Harmony Heritage Chorus traveling to international competition

PAWTUCKET - Harmony Heritage Chorus, under the direction of Fred Kingsbury, will compete with 22 other choruses at the International Convention & Contests Nov. 13-17 at Caesars Windsor in Ontario, Canada. The women's a cappella chorus qualified for the competition at the Area 2 Convention & Contests in Leominster, Mass. in April.

Harmony Heritage is a local chapter of Harmony Inc., an international organization whose purpose is "to empower all women through education, friendship and a cappella singing in the barbershop style." More than 1,000 members will gather, and 28 ladies quartets will compete.

The chorus holds open rehearsals most Tuesday evenings from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Visitors are welcome to come and listen, and women are welcome to join chorus members on the risers.
