Salvation Army seeks bell-ringers

WOONSOCKET - The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to staff their collection kettles between Nov. 30 and Dec. 24 at Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop and Brigido's Market in North Smithfield. There are many hours to fill at all locations; shifts are two hours long. Individuals, families, school groups and others are encouraged to staff kettles and ring the bell. Ninety percent of all funds raised go directly to helping local low-income families, preventing many people from becoming homeless.

Woonsocket and North Smithfield low-income families and individuals have received assistance with basic needs such as rent and utility assistance through the Salvation Army. For information about how to volunteer for the Kettle Drive, contact Wendy Pires at Family Resources Community Action at 401-235-6096 or wpires@famresri.org or visit famresri.org .
