Catch a matinee movie at the library

CUMBERLAND - The Cumberland Public Library announces its Friday Matinees for December. Patrons are welcome to bring outside drinks and snacks. Movies are closed captioned for the hard of hearing. Movie screenings are free and open to all ages. No registration is required. All shows begin at 1:30 p.m.

Nov. 29: "Admission," rated PG-13, 107 minutes. Tina Fey and Paul Rudd star in this romantic comedy about an uptight Princeton admissions officer who encounters a teenage prodigy who may be her long-lost son.

Dec. 13: "Mud," rated PG-13, 130 minutes. In this southern drama, two young boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail and to reunite him with his true love.

Dec. 27: "Much Ado About Nothing," rated PG-13, 107 minutes. Writer/director Joss Whedon gives William Shakespeare's classic comedy about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words a contemporary makeover.
