Goffe to be named CEO of Dean Bank

FRANKLIN, Mass. - Dean Bank president and CEO Wayne A. Cottle has announced his plans for retirement at the end of this year. Kevin R. Goffe, of Cumberland, chief financial officer and 22-year veteran of Dean Bank, will be named president and CEO at that time.

Cottle joined Dean Bank as its CEO in January of 1976. At that time he was among the youngest bank presidents in Massachusetts. After 38 years at the helm, he is currently the longest actively serving bank president in Massachusetts. The bank has grown over his tenure from assets of less than $6 million to its current $250 million. Cottle has guided the bank's expansion from its original single location in downtown Franklin to a network of four regional banking branch offices located in Franklin, Bellingham, Blackstone and Mendon.

In a press release, Cottle said that Goffe's 22 years of experience with Dean Bank, his role as its current chief financial officer and his comprehensive understanding of the challenges community banks face will allow Dean Bank to continue to grow and capitalize on future opportunities.
