Resolution lauds Wright's Dairy history

PROVIDENCE - State Rep. Brain Newberry sponsored a resolution in the House of Representatives recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Wright family's life on the farm, as documented in the new book "Wright's Dairy Farm: History in Four Voices."

"Thomas Jefferson once said, 'Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.' And while members of the Wright family are perhaps not overburdened with copious amounts of money, they are rich in family heritage and have achieved abundant success in the business of farming," bill H 7001 states.

"The economic vitality of our state depends and relies on the strength of small businesses such as the Wright's Dairy Farm who sagaciously and fruitfully carry on the noble tradition of farming in our state."

The resolution was passed Jan. 7 and the Secretary of State was authorized to transmit a certified copy of it to Eddie Wright, head of operations at the farm.
