Priscilla Diveley - North Scituate

Priscilla “Shorty” Diveley passed away on Jan. 17, 2014. She was a long-time resident of North Scituate. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Victor Diveley July 1, 2007.

“Shorty” was a proud graduate of the Rhode Island School of Nursing in Sept. 1943, and worked at Lying Inn Hospital for most of her nursing years.

She was a member of the Lucy C. Ayers Foundation. She was also active in many activities in the town, such as the 4-H and the Misquamicut Riding and Driving Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Williams of Fife, Wash.; two grandchildren, Rebecca Monnig of Archer, Fla., and Stephen Pope of Warwick, R.I.; and nine great-grandchildren and four-great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, “Shorty” wishes to have contributions made to the Lucy C. Ayers Memorial Foundation, c/o Wealth Management, The Washington Trust Company, 23 Broad St., Westerly, RI 02891, which provides grants for those who wish to attend nursing school, or contributions to a local animal organization of your choosing.

Priscilla requested to be cremated and buried next to her husband at Veterans Cemetery. There are no services planned.
