RiverzEdge launches After Hours, Free Film Fridays

WOONSOCKET - Riverzedge Arts Project will be keeping the lights on later with free art, design and business workshops for Woonsocket area teens, called "After Hours," and will also be hosting Free Film Fridays on the last Friday of every month.

Starting Feb. 25, and running through early May, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the Riverzedge Studios on Main Street will feature an in-depth workshop series in apparel design, creative writing, video production, drawing, and how to start your own business. Teens interested in the arts, who want to learn new skills, who like to experiment, or who just want something to do at night, are invited to sign up for the program.

"After Hours is a great opportunity for Woonsocket area youth who are interested in the arts, design and entrepreneurship," said Program Director Brad Fesmire. "After Hours teens are given the opportunity to work alongside professional artists and designers in a real studio setting. It is a great way for youth to check out Riverzedge, too."

Also for the first time, Riverzedge will also be hosting Free Film Fridays on the last Friday of each month. The gallery area will be turned into a stimulation and fun zone, with free movies and popcorn catering to the specialized obsessions of teens. Call Riverzedge for a full schedule of movies and dates. RSVPs are required.
