Woonsocket police nab alleged crack dealer after undercover sting

WOONSOCKET – A Providence man has been arrested and charged by Woonsocket police for narcotics distribution after allegedly selling drugs to members of the police vice squad.

Angel Peguero, 18, of 1030 Atwells Ave., Providence was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 6 after what city police called a "lengthy and in depth investigation."

"The Vice Squad had been conducting a suspected crack cocaine dealing operation since mid-January," said Det. Jamie Paone.

Peguero was reportedly arrested after the Vice Squad took part in a series of controlled buys. He was charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver, maintaining common nuisance/control substance, intent to distribute a controlled substance near a school, and possession of schedule I,II,III,IV,V. He is scheduled to be arraigned in District Court on Friday, Feb. 7.
