Music community invited to health insurance forum

CUMBERLAND - Members of Rhode Island's music community, including musicians, sound engineers, roadies, and technical staff, are encouraged to attend an informational health insurance forum on Sunday, March 23, at 4 p.m., at Blackstone River Theatre, 549 Broad St.

The forum is free and presented by Tune In & Tune Up Rhode Island Musicians Health Awareness Program, an initiative of the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame.

At the event, there will be representatives from Tune In & Tune Up and there will also be an outreach team from HealthSource RI on site to answer questions and help members of the music community start the enrollment process.

The forum will explain some basic facts, such as any individual who makes less than $15,856 is eligible for free health insurance. Those who make more have access to affordable insurance and tax credits are available.

The sign-up deadline for health insurance is March 31. The next chance after that date is in November.

Registration is not necessary but will be helpful in planning the forum. To register, email russell@riverfolk.org.
