Summer youth jobs program accepting applications

WOONSOCKET - Family Resources Community Action's Youth Works 411 Center, pending funding from the R.I. Department of Labor and Training, is beginning the application process for the Greater Woonsocket Youth Summer Jobs Program.¬?This six-week program is open to ages 14 to 24 from Woonsocket, North Smithfield, Cumberland, Lincoln, and Burrillville. Space is limited and only youth that have never been in the program before are eligible to apply.¬?

The program is an opportunity for youth with little or no job experience to acquire skills and training while earning a paycheck. To be considered for the program, all prospective participants and their parent or guardian if under 18 must attend an application night at the Youth Center.¬?Application nights are held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. through the end of April at at 55 Main St.

Prospective participants must bring their birth certificate, Social Security card, proof of address within the past 90 days (must have youth's name and address on it) and proof of family income for the past six months, or most recent SNAP statement, to the application night.
