Electronics collection April 26 at Four Corners Chapel

CUMBERLAND - Indie Cycle Inc. is holding a free electronic waste collection and fundraising event on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Four Corners Community Chapel, corner of Diamond Hill and Angell roads.

Accepted for recycling will be computers, monitors, laptops, PDAs, cell phones, computer mouses, keyboards, printers, toner cartridges, networking equipment, wires, stereos, telephones, TVs, microwaves, and other electronic equipment, in any age or condition.

Also accepted will be batteries of any size, type or shape, including auto and marine batteries and battery backups.

A $10 disposal fee will be charged for mini-fridges, household air conditioners, water coolers and dehumidifiers.

Not accepted are light bulbs, mattresses or hazardous materials such as paint, firearms and broken TV tubes.

Indie Cycle has a zero-landfill policy and does not remarket any hard drives or data storage devices, according to a press release. All electronic materials collected are transferred to ORS, a local, R2-certified recycler, for processing.
