North Providence Library staff announce movie, availability of library passes

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Staff at the North Providence Union Free Public Library are announcing events and resources.

* This week's movie for "Free Movie Matinee Wednesday" is another Oscar-nominated film. Come at 11 a.m. for a "dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them." The film is Rated R and is 121 minutes in length.

* The library circulates museum and zoo passes to borrowers with a valid library card. The passes allow either discounted or free admission to the following: Roger Williams Park Zoo, Providence; the RISD Museum, Providence; Mystic Aquarium, Mystic, Conn; Providence Children's Museum, Providence; and the Biomes Center, North Kingstown. * The Mystery Book Club will not be meeting in May. The next session will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 7 p.m. The book to be discussed is "A Test of Wills" by Charles Todd.

The library is located at 1810 Mineral Spring Ave. Hours are Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
