NORTH PROVIDENCE - The North Providence Library is announcing upcoming events and services, starting Wednesday, May 7.

* Join in on Wednesday, May 7, at 11 a.m. for the showing of the bestselling book-turned-into-film that tells the story of one woman's search for the son she gave up for adoption. Rated PG-13, the movie is 98 minutes long. Library movies are free and open to the public. Popcorn and drinks are provided.

* The next meeting of the Cooking and Recipe Discussion Group will be held on Thursday, May 15, at 11 a.m. This month the discussion will be on beverages. Bring ideas, questions and suggestions. Organizers will be raffling off cookbooks, and those who correctly answer a trivia question or two will have the chance to win an additional prize. New members are always welcome.

* Universal Class is a new, online continuing education service provided by the library. More than 500 non-credit classes are available. All a resident needs is their North Providence Library card. Visit www.nplib.com to explore the free service and learn something new.
