CHS band, Clef Singers bring home awards

CUMBERLAND - The Cumberland High School Music Department participated in the National Music Festival in Annapolis, Md., in April and took home multiple awards.

The band took home the "Outstanding Band" award and received a bronze rating from the judges. The Clef Singers placed second during the competition and received a gold rating.

Individually, Josef DaSilva, Janelle Hashway and Emily Levesque were presented the Maestro Award for their exceptional instrumental solos.

Josef also received the Ovation Award for his display of musical prowess within the school, community and festival.
