One Mendon Road tenant charged for possessing child porn

CUMBERLAND - Members of the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force last week arrested Michael Colantuono, 51, of One Mendon Road, for the alleged crimes of possession of child pornography and transfer of child pornography.

According to police, during March of 2014, while working in an undercover capacity on the Internet, members of the Computer Crimes Unit and ICAC Task Force identified an apartment within Cumberland Housing Authority's high rise at One Mendon Road as involved in trading images of child pornography. A court-authorized search warrant was executed at the residence and forensic analyses were conducted on digital media within the household. Images of child pornography were located on the media and determined to be in the possession of Colantuono, say police.

Colantuono was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court and released on $10,000 surety bail with special conditions restricting his contact with children and use of the Internet. He is scheduled to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on July 31.
