Spinners Red U-14 team takes title

The Blackstone Valley Spinners U-14 team won its AAU regular season division championship this season. The champs are, front row from left, coach Joe McGinn, Kevin Cox, Nick Vaillancourt, Jeffrey Lisi, Brandon Kelly, Jack McGinn, Jacob Servant, Miguel Perez and coach Mark Grivers. The Blackstone Valley Spinners Red U-14 improved their season to 6-1-1 and moved into sole possession of first place in the New England AAU U-14 Open Division by sweeping the Blackstone Valley Spinners American.

The two teams entered their weekend games tied for first place and played a double header at Bentley Field.

Red dominated the first game in an 11-3 win and also took game two, 8-1, to secure their first place position.

Colin Gauthier pitched a complete game in game one and, in game two, Jordan Perdomo and John Scungio combined for a four-hit, one run victory.

The offense was paced by Jordan Perdomo, Nick Vallancourt, Angelo Landry, Jeff Lisi, Jack McGinn and Colin Gauthier, who all had multiple hits.

The Red team is managed by Joel Landry and coached by Mark Grivers, Joe McGinn, Mike Perez and assistant coach Mike Servant.

The American team is managed by Nick Morrissey and coached by Mike Bouchard and Brian Casilli.

Red team members are from Lincoln, Pawtucket, North Kingstown, Warren, Johnston, and Franklin and Sutton, Mass.
