Cullen will defend free speech if elected

LINCOLN - John Cullen, a candidate for the House of Representatives District 46 seat, said in a press release this week that he "believes" the voters want a representative who respects and defends their rights of free speech and conscience.

According to Cullen, the R.I. Knights of Columbus introduced a bill that would have allowed the issuance of a license plate that read "Choose Life."

"This was, in my opinion, a freedom of speech and conscience issue that many Rhode Islanders share," he said.

"As your representative I would defend your rights of free speech and conscience, even when others vehemently disagree with what you say and believe," he said.
