Campbell announces council run

SCITUATE - David B. Campbell, of Ashland Road, has announced his candidacy for Scituate Town Council. He is an endorsed candidate in the Scituate Republican primary to be held on Sept. 9.

Campbell is a 1966 graduate of Scituate High School and a graduate of American University, Washington, D.C. He retired last fall as senior vice president of human resources for Care New England/Kent Hospital. He has spent most of his adult life as a resident of Scituate.

In a press release, he said his reason for running is, "Scituate is one of the very few examples of government that works for the people. I would like to join in and help to make that continue. I know I am very proud of my town. A town that respects the schools, the police, public works, and fire departments, and all the community organizations that contribute to make this an exemplary town. Scituate is a fiscally responsible town."

He added, "I have spent a lifetime of listening to different points of view, and working with all positions at different levels to achieve results. My agenda is to listen and be as fair and as considerate as I can. I would like to put that experience to work as a member of the Scituate Town Council."
