Man arrested in case of video voyeurism

SMITHFIELD - In a media release Monday afternoon, the Smithfield Police Department said that they arrested 32-year-old Nathan Steele of Southbridge, Mass., at the Barnes & Noble at Smithfield Crossing on Sunday.

A female customer reported that she caught Steele using his cell phone to record a video up her skirt. Police said that she was able to gain control of the device until they arrived.

According to police, Steele was arrested at 6:18 p.m., brought before Bail Commissioner Christopher Millea, and was released on $10,000 personal recognizance. Steele is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20.

Police are investigating the possibility that Steele has engaged in video voyeurism in other locations and jurisdictions.
