Jared C. Keene - Richmond

Jared C. Keene - Richmond

Jared C. Keene–His sunrise was December 22, 1984. Jared is the eldest son of Gary M. and Donna L. (Ceriani) Keene of Richmond, R.I. He is the adoring husband of Lakia M. (Lowe) Keene. They made their home in Ashaway, R.I.

Jared is survived by his sister, Ashley B. Abrahao, and his brother, Tyler Douglas Keene. He is the maternal grandson of Richard E. Ceriani and the late Marilyn J. (Simpson) Ceriani of Middleboro; and the paternal grandson to Joan M. (Bissett) Keene and the late Randall S. Keene of Hanover, Mass.

Jared served his country by enlisting in the United States Army, serving tours in both South Korea and Iraq. He retired from the Army on a medical discharge as a result of injuries received during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Jared wanted nothing more than to return to school and work in his beloved Rhode Island. While dealing with serious health issues, he attended New England Tech, earning his Associates Degree and was working toward his Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering technology.

Always the ultimate local sports fan, he loved the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and the Celtics, cheered the New England Patriots and could often be found at McCoy Stadium hoping to catch a Paw Sox foul ball. His favorite music was the purr of a perfectly tuned engine.

Tragically, for all that knew and loved him, his sunset was September 26, 2014. Rest in Peace, Jared–forever an angel among angels.

His funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 will be appreciated. Information and condolences, visit www.QuinnFuneralHome.com
